Sirius red is used to demonstrate amyloid in a manner similar to congo red, including green birefringence, but it is a darker red colour. It is also used to stain collagen in a procedure similar to Van Gieson. Do not confuse this dye with sirius red 4B. Please refer to the StainsFile web pages for a
